GEMKOM is committed to sustainable farming practices. In addition to creating viable, long term markets and employment for regional communities, this means minimising our carbon and ecological footprints and, importantly, sourcing and using energy in a clean and efficient manner.

As such, our cultivation facility and processes are designed, ground-up, with energy innovation in mind.

In agriculture, CO2 is critical, in terms of both growth cycles and emissions. To this end, we have taken an efficient and circular approach to the deployment and atmospheric emission of CO2. Thus far, we have performed feasibility assessments of eight low carbon energy systems, of which we are now focusing on following two options:

On the sustainable CO2 sourcing front, we plan to extract and liquify CO2 from nearby operators (factories, facilities) for reuse in our grow rooms.
